Farmhouse Organics
From Anne Weber, Farmer/Owner:
farmhouseorganics.com
Online ordering of a variety of vegetables, greens, and herbs for pickup or delivery on Bainbridge and North Kitsap. CSA shares and gift cards also available. $30 minimum order for delivery, no minimum order for farm pick up. Our mission is to provide our customers with fresh, organic, locally-grown produce. We want to help deepen the connections between our customers, the food they eat, and the ground in which it grows. We want people of all ages to learn – through a personal connection with the farm and farmer – how their food arrives at the table. We believe that seeing the ground where their produce comes from encourages people to be thoughtful stewards of the farm’s ecosystem. We want people to see that when we nourish the soil, it nourishes us. By growing seasonal organic produce for a local market, we offer a sustainable alternative to conventional produce grown in far-off regions and shipped vast distances to market.

Full Tilth Farm
From Farmers/Owners: Renee Ziemann and Becky Zaneski,
https://fulltilthfarm.wordpress.com
Buy now through Kitsap Fresh. We are planning to sell our produce mostly through the Poulsbo farmers market (the market is adapting procedures and will be opening with limitations and sanitation rules) and through Kitsap Fresh. We have a small CSA which is now full due to the increased interest in the last 2 weeks. It's great that there is a lot of interest from consumers in buying local at this moment! We are directing those interested in CSA shares to check out Around the Table farm, Farmhouse Organics, and Persephone Farm.

  1. While the Poulsbo market is closed, a few of the vendors are doing weekly Saturday mini-markets at Around the Table Farm in Poulsbo. Info flyer attached for this weekend. This will be the third weekend we've done it and they have gone very well from a safety/social distancing perspective but we could use a little bit more publicity to get a few more shoppers there.
  2. Full Tilth is launching an online storefront for our plant starts that we normally sell via the farmers market. We are have spring starts available now and will start adding tomatoes/hot crops in a couple weeks. https://openfoodnetwork.net/full-tilth-farm-plant-starts/shop#/about

Order online, Pick up on the Farm

Heyday Farm is a family-owned 25 acre sustainable and historic farm on Bainbridge Island. By aiming for pre-industrial, closed loop farming practices, we grow food of the highest integrity, taste and quality. We approach this work with respect and gratitude for our community of people, animals and plants. From this gratitude comes our commitment to increase our collective nourishment just as farms did back in their heydays. Our animals are pasture raised on Bainbridge Island. All eggs and animal products are hormone and antibiotic free. Beef is grass fed, and the cows are rotated throughout our various pastures to ensure access to fresh grass throughout the growing season. Our pork is pasture raised in our newly completed paddock system, allowing us to cycle our pigs onto fresh grass throughout the season.

Practices

We take the most ecologically sound and closed-loop approaches from pre- industrial and current-day farming practices and apply them to growing and raising food of the highest taste and quality. Our pasture rotation management allows us to improve the soil and fertility of our 25 acre farm. Proper management allows us to prevent over grazing, while increasing the overall nutrient availability for our grasses, and in turn, our livestock. We have an industrial composting set-up on the farm that allows us to compost all of our animal wastes/bedding/offal. The compost is then spread on the pastures during the spring. All of our feed is ordered in bulk one-ton totes that allow us to minimize the waste that traditional 50-lb feed sacks generate. Successful farm management has allowed us to preserve 25 acres of historic island farmland, while allowing us to provide healthy pasture-raised products to our local community.

Hitchcock

We closed down our dining room in March, and will keep it closed until all signs point toward it being responsible for our neighbors to gather again. In the mean time, we are offering a few ways to bring our hospitality, food and wines to you - safely.

We’ve launched Family Meal, a full dinner for 2 or 4 cooked to order for you, offered five nights per week. We’re also offering subscriptions to our CSA (community-supported agriculture), a cornucopia of local foods that we’ve pulled together from our broad network of farmers, foragers, ranchers, fishing boats, and our own prepared foods.

Even though we are closed for service, we have a diverse and delightful cellar we’d love to share with you. If you would like a custom selection of wines, sanitized and safely delivered to bring more joy to the hunker-down-at-home, check out our Pandemic Wine Club.

During tough times, we all need somebody to lean on. That’s why we’ve added a pay-it-forward layer into our CSA program. For every box you buy for someone in need, we’ll match it with a second and make sure it gets delivered to their doorstep. The challenges that face our community are great, but we know our collective strength is greater. Love, Hitchcock

Sweetlife Farm
From Nancy and Bob Fortner, Farmers/Owners/Producers:

Value added products we make here that include many ingredients grown on their lovely farm property. Pick up for online or phone orders from our studio porch. Phone: 206.842.6577.
Pantry Provisions: We have a thing about having a lot of food around; we grow much of our own fruit, veggies and herbs. Keeping a well stocked pantry adds options for planning great meals, and eliminates cooking steps and multiple trips to the grocery store without sacrificing quality or spontaneity. Staples like grains, flour, spices, etc are the basics, and rubs, mixtures, sauces and preserves add flavor and complexity to otherwise basic meals.
Personal Care Products: Simple, Effective, Handmade Skincare and Aromatherapy. Think of this as the pantry, protection and poetry for the outside of the body (his, hers, and even the dog's). We make an arsenal of essentials with simple, effective ingredients that support and promote healthy and vibrant skin, hair and nails.
We make everything on site, in small batches, with carefully sourced top quality simple ingredients you can pronounce, including some from our own gardens. Our goal is to pamper your body while being sensitive to the environment with our choices of both ingredients and packaging.
We've got you covered from head to toe, in a variety of ways: washing yourself, your kids, your hair and even the dog with pure, biodegradable, beautiful, soaps with sensuous scents; achieving a smooth, close shave; soothing problem skin; relieving irritation of stings, itchy spots, soreness and even pain; scrubbing away stubborn grime; smelling good enough to hug; falling asleep naturally.
